RiteAid Early Heads Up From California

Thanks to Linda B, for this early report about RiteAid from California where the ad starts on Friday. For everyone else, this starts tomorrow ---


RiteAid early UP report from CA (2/4/2011 7:40:27 PM):  The RiteAid coffee is indeed still $1.99, with every 2 purchased giving a $1 UP. I bought 8, used 8 of the $2 coupons and got back $4 in UPs. Can't beat free coffee (no tax) plus $4 profit!


The Biotrue for $4.99 with a $4 UP rings at $3.99 with 20% off. I had 2 $1 coupons, probably from coupons.com, but they only had one on the shelf so that's all I got. Got the $4 UP.


Rebate #17, $4, is for Ocufresh/MiniDrops, LIMIT TWO. OcuFresh rings at $4.79 with 20% off, not the $4.99 ad price. Rebate book says Limit 2 rebates, doesn't specify one of each so I got 2 OcuFresh, my store didn't have the MiniDrops.


The 2 Coldcalm FAR items (page 13 in my ad) ring at the ad price, regular price is fairly expensive. I looked at the rest of the items from page 2 in the rebate book to see it they were on sale or maybe even reasonable with rebate and coupons. NOPE. One of them, rebate #18 for $8 is almost $15 regular price! Too expensive even with 20% off and a $2 coupon. The Revitalens however, rebate #14 for $4.99, rings at $3.99 if you have 20% off. We'll see if I get the whole $4.99 rebate...


KY Intrigue rings at $15.99 if you have 20% off, not the $17.99 ad price. I used the $7 facebook coupon and a $3 VV coupon, got the $5 UP. Cashier would only take one of my VV coupons, I had 4, one each for 2 months, 2 accounts. Oh well. (Other cashiers at this store have accepted multiples like that but not this one.)


I used the $3 in-ad Garnier coupon plus a $2 SS coupon for a package of the wet cleansing towelettes, which ring at $5.03 with 20% off, close to free. I paid with a couple of my $16 UPs from last week, plus a $5 and a $2. Paid $5.73 oop, mostly tax, got back $15 in new UPs (also bought 4 pkgs of the Russell Stover sugar free candy, $2 UP). And I'll get back almost $26 in rebates.  Linda B. B, CA

Groupon: Your $20 Barnes & Noble Voucher Is Ready

Groupon is back to normal this morning. You should be able to log in. If the $20 Barnes & Noble purchase was your first, you can print your voucher now. You have two options. You can take the voucher to a brick & mortar store and use it, or you can order something on line. The vouchers don't carry
a balance, so you'll want to use the whole thing in one transaction. You have until 4/11 to use it. After 4/11 the value reverts to $10. To get to your voucher, go to Groupon, log in, and look in the upper right corner for your name. Run your cursor over that, and you'll see "My Groupons". Click on that. You'll see the B&N listing. Click on "Print" and you've got it. If you're going to use it on-line, you don't actually have to print it. Just use the voucher number as you check out.

If you live in Long Island NY and didn't get your $10/$10 JCPenney coupon in the mail in Oct 2009, I know what happened  to it......
Click here and here. A Long Island postal worker allegedly stole 7,000 JCPenney, Kohl's, and Lowe's $10 coupons and sold them on EBay. He netted $35,000 and probably a trip to prison.  If you watch the video, it looks like the reporter didn't understand the crime. We all know that a $10/$10 JCPenney coupon is like a $10 bill. It's not like a mid-week sales circular that you use to line the birdcage. They make it sound like he took a simple ad for JCPenney and that the crime is 'victimless'. Well, if you took my $10 bill -- oops $10 JCPenney coupon -- I am a victim and I'm out that nice freebie.  If the reporter did a little more research, she would understand that you don't sell sales circulars on EBay, you sell valuable $10 coupons. Hopefully the court experience will include people who are more savvy.

Ok fully armed with coupons $2, $4 & $7 off I go to Rite Aid in Lionville, PA.  I walk in & find my new cashier friend who gets a kick out of me with my deals.

I  locate the Personal Hygiene aisle and evaluate the deals at hand.  K-y products buy one get one 50% off.  Yours & Mine $19.99 each Buy one get one 50% off 2 $7 dollar coupons $40 total - $10 -$14 - 2 $4 coupons

Next to that is the K-y Jelly  @ $5.69 each Buy one get one @ 50% off.  Armed with 2 $2 coupons.   Loaded up with 6 total.  I go to the register & proceed to put up the first transaction of the Jelly Total spent $6.83 which netted me a $5.00 coupon for each of 3 transactions a total of $15.00 Out of Pocket 15.89  Saved $12.00 & Wellness savings total $18.55

Next the Your & Mine transaction.  $19.99 each - $10.00 off -$14 coupons & the $15 from the 3 previous transactions total out of pocket 98 cents.  Saved $29.00 Wellness total $10.00. 

I roll the extra $5.00 over from this deal into another yours & mine deal with 2 more $4 coupons & a $5 Wellness for Out of pocket of $16.99.  Wellness savings of $10 & coupon savings of $13.00.  That’s when it got nuts.  Out prints a $20 off wellness reward, bells & whistles go off in my head as I run back for 2 more of the yours & mine & armed with 2 more $4 coupons back to the register again.  This time  out of pocket $1.98 wellness savings of $10 & $28.00 in coupons savings and again a $20 reward prints out, here we go again, out of pocket $1.98 & $10 in wellness & $29.00 in coupon savings and I have accumulated another $15 in rewards to use which I decide to wait until next week.
