Kroger Stops Doubles In Houston

Readers in the Houston/Dallas vicinity are reeling over news that double and triple coupons are ending Apr 14 at Kroger. Kroger states that only 7% of shoppers use coupons, and that is blatantly false. Maybe only 7% use coupons all the time, but more than 50% of shoppers use coupons at least occasionally. Doubling and tripling coupons is very expensive for a store. They want out. The only way to reverse this is to stop shopping there. If their business drops dramatically, they will reconsider. But realize that Kroger doesn't mind clipping the wings of the most dedicated couponers. Those shoppers cost them big bucks when they double or triple 20, 30, 50, or 100 coupons in a shopping trip. It's not hopeless, but the only way they will reconsider is if lots of people stop shopping there, not just the most extreme 2% of shoppers.  I feel your pain.
