Yesterday was the day that Costco switched over to Visa. American Express will no longer work at Costco. If you had a Costco American Express card, you should have already gotten your new Costco Anywhere Visa Card by Citi in the mail. It has your membership number and picture on the back.
Note that any Visa will work when you pay for your groceries, but you must show your Costco membership card to get in the door.
