Bumping Up... Free $25 Amazon Gift Card for Referring NEXTDOOR

Bumping Up.... More Interest

Hot! Free $25 Amazon Gift Card For Referring Nextdoor

This really works. I signed up for Nextdoor several months ago when I first heard about it. Basically, you are grouped with your neighbors, so if you have something to sell or give away, an important message, lost dog, etc., you can post to the site and it goes out as an email to your neighbors. I used it recently when I was trying to track down a feral kitten that was spotted on the next block. People in my area have posted phone numbers for snow shoveling, announced yard sales, asked for piano teacher names, offered furniture to give away or for sale, help finding lost pets, requests for names of people who do home repairs, offered to give away free dirt, even announced a cougar sighting in someone's back yard. I get maybe one email a week, so it's not a source of spam. It's free, and I always read the occasional emails that come, since they are from neighbors very close to me. There are 24 neighbors in my group, out of a potential of 61 houses, so it's pretty popular already.  If you don't want to receive emails, you can also opt to read the posts online at Nextdoor instead.

Right now Nextdoor is trying to expand to more neighborhoods. If you launch a new neighborhood, you get a $25 Amazon gift card!!  To qualify, you have to follow their links and be the first to sign up in your neighborhood, then get 10 neighbors to sign up within a 21 day period. You'll get the $25 gift card, and the person who referred you gets a $25 gift card. Cool! You must be referred by someone to get in on the deal, so here's my referral link: Nextdoor

Suggestion -- Set up your new neighborhood link, then send around or post a simple notice with the link. Use fliers, postcards, email. Encourage everyone to sign up so you can all stay in touch and notify each other of local happenings (hopefully not cougar sightings). If you happen to have some sort of neighborhood organization already, like a neighborhood watch or homeowner's association, and you have members' email addresses, it would be a snap to get 10 people signed up for Nextdoor.  You can also post on social media like Facebook.

Remember, the day to post your own referral links on Off-Topic is the first day of each month, which is coming soon. Set up your Nextdoor account, then post your referral link on Off-Topic April 1.
