Here's how it works. The child sits on the seat and puts their feet on the black grips on the deck. They twist the handle back and forth and that makes the car go. Don't ask me how!! I thought maybe you had to be on a hill or something, but no, the car just goes when you twist the handle back and forth. No battery, no pedals, no gears. It can be used indoors if you have a hard surface like wood or tile. There are lots of color choices. The suggested age range is 3-8, but my 11 year old granddaughter still likes to ride it.
