Target Register Problems -- Sign the Petition

As the discussion on Chat has pointed out, Target has a big problem right now with the way their registers are programmed. If you have a $1/2 coupon and buy two .65 items with that coupon, the register only
deducts .65, not $1. This started when they tried to fix a different problem of overage. Basically the computer cannot give you over the cost of the item, but instead of recognizing you bought two items, it takes the easy road and gives you the price of one item even if it's less than the coupon allows. Because Target receipts are tricky to read, most people don't notice. You can sign a petition on line here to get Target's attention. It's hard to believe that with negative TV publicity Target didn't jump right on this, but as far as I know, it's still not fixed. Be sure to add a comment to the petition. That's what Target
will read.

Original article: Do you watch your receipt carefully at Target?
You will after reading this article.
Target has been accused of not giving full value for coupons. For example, Target deducted $1.99 for a $4 coupon. There is definitely something funny going on in their computer system. Quote: 'Target spokesperson
Jenn Glass said, "We are working on a fix. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused our guests. They can certainly return to a store with receipts if they didn't receive the complete coupon amount."'

But no promise about when it would be fixed permanently.
