Ordering Glasses Online -- The Skinny on Zennioptical + $5 Off
New to Zenni? Start at this link and get $5 off!!! Zennioptical
Once you have your eyeglasses prescription, you can save a boatload of money by ordering glasses online. My favorite is Zennioptical, where you can get glasses as low as $9.95, including frames and prescription. You can even get $5 off the already cheap price if you are a new customer by clicking here: Zennioptical
My experience has been that the prescription is always exactly right. The only question in ordering is the right frames. Here are some tips:
1) You can upload a picture of your face and 'try on' the glasses. This is easy and helps a lot. Be sure to center your eyes before finalizing the picture at Zennioptical. Then just click on the frames you're interested in, and the frames will appear on your picture, right side of the page. Click to try on as many as you like. If you don't want to upload your own picture, you can still try them on the model's picture, which is already on the page.
2) Measure some glasses you already have/like for width and lenses height. Compare that measurement to the online frames.
3) Be sure you know your pupiliary distance (PD). If it isn't listed on your prescription, there is a way to measure it at Zennioptical.
The cheapest glasses are, of course, the simplest, like reading glasses or distance glasses. You can order more complicated prescriptions for a little more money. I got line bifocals for $21. You can also add tint, lenses protection, etc. Every extra adds more to the cost, but overall, it's still a fraction of what you'd pay at Lenscrafters or (heaven forbid) at an ophthalmologist's office.
Poke around at Zennioptical -- it's actually a lot of fun going through the frames.
Start here Zennioptical, then write down your unique code to get $5 off your first order. Use the code at checkout. This is a cheap way to have back-up glasses if you are already happy with the prescription you're wearing now.
If you're like me and refuse to wear glasses all the time, I have at least ten pairs of Zennioptical reading glasses around the house, in my purse, next to the computer, on my nightstand, in the car, etc. It's a lot easier than keeping track of one pair. My prescription is past the range for drug store reading glasses, and is slightly different for each eye, so Zennioptical is a great solution for me. Cheap and plentiful.
Delivery: My last order from Zennioptical came in a week. They have gotten faster. It used to be 2 weeks. Shipping is about $5.95 - $7.95 depending on how many pairs you order.
Another good site is 39DollarGlasses but they are more expensive than Zennioptical. Try DISCOUNT10 to get $10 off, no promises. 39DollarGlasses
