Read this announcement on CNN Money. Amazon will now ship small cheap items for FREE! No minimum!! If your item weighs less than 8 ounces and costs less than $10, it ships free even if you're not an Amazon Prime member. It's not fully implemented yet, so your mileage may vary. I'm going to test it out on a couple items.
Hmmm... I tested this on a couple items that were under 8 ounces and less than $10 and it didn't work. They were labeled as "Add On" items in my cart, and you couldn't order them by themselves. You have to add them to another qualifying order. I don't remember seeing this before.
