I buy the Jergens Natural Glow FACE product for two reasons: It gives me a touch of color to counteract my washed-out white face, and it has an SPF of 20 which is enough that I can pat myself on the back for using sunblock daily. Unlike in the past, it doesn't have any odor and it doesn't turn me orange. It just gives me a little bit of tan.
I always chuckle when I think about what a hair dresser once said to me. I have some subtle highlights in my dark hair. She said to me, "You need some color in your face in winter to balance those highlights." Really? It's something I never would have thought about, but she was right. I do look healthier with one shade of fake tan!
Here's another funny memory. I have a cousin who is a fashion and makeup expert. When I was in my 20's, she told me to "Get a professional photo taken while you still have color in your face." Huh? I didn't realize (and she was right) that as we age, we lose our coloring. Boo hoo, another sad truth. It's a good thing that we get such good deals on makeup because I need it now, while in my 20's I could get away with a little lip gloss.
