Alexia Frozen Food Settlement to $35
If you bought Alexia frozen foods from 12/6/07 - 7/10/13, you are entitled to a settlement check for up to $35, or you can opt to take Alexia product vouchers worth $75. You have to file a claim here. You can claim up to 10 purchases. The plaintiffs claimed that certain Alexia frozen potato products, advertised as ‘natural’ or ‘all natural’, should not have been advertised as such because they contained the ingredient disodium dihydrogen pyrophosphate.
It doesn’t matter whether you were happy with Alexia frozen foods or not. If you purchased the product, you are entitled to part of the settlement.
The purpose of a settlement is to punish the manufacturer, generally for false advertising. In this case, the product may not have been ‘all natural’. In the case of Sketchers, the shoes did not tone your legs. These lawsuits are not like satisfaction guarantees. You may have been perfectly happy with the product, but because the manufacturer made claims that may not have been true, they have to pay up.
The Alexia potato products in the lawsuit are:
Saute Reds
Mashed Potatoes Yukon Gold Potatoes & Sea Salt
Mashed Potatoes Red Potatoes w/Garlic & Parmesan
Waffle Fries
Harvest Saute
Italian Saute
Saute Sweets
Potato Bites
These settlements take years. Expect it to be a least a year before you get a check or vouchers.
